Okay….I KNOW I say this almost every single time a new block goes live…but…I’m in LOVE with the block that is debuting this week!! Everything about it screams summertime fun and it kinda reminds me of one of my favorite summer treats—sherbet!! (I can’t be the only one thinking that, right?!?!)

A few words from Kimberly!
Kimberly has been crocheting since she was 8, when her grandma gave her a hook and yarn and taught her to chain.She came back with an extremely long ch and asked what was next. And the rest is history.
Thoughts about her newest pattern, Alpine Flowers!
My very first memory is of walking up the stairs in my grandparent’s home in Alpine. We would come visit every summer and I vividly remember the snapdragons that my grandma had planted in front of her house. This square reminds me of a flower garden
For the multi colored squares, I wanted to see what would happen if I used the same color sequence, but changed which color I started with. I can’t decide which is my favorite.

Gauge: 25 sc = 7″, First 5 rounds = 2 3/4″
Skill Level: Easy
Materials Used:
  • 1 oz worsted weight yarn (size 4) in main color
  • Small amount of worsted weight yarn (size 4) in color chosen for joining squares
  • Size K hook (6.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends
  • Scissors
