From Home

This week’s block is brought to you by one of my favorite divas with a hook, Michelle Warwick of From Home! I love her crochet style and the things she can do with an ami are nothing short of amazing!

Let’s learn a little more about the square and the designer behind it!

Michelle has been captivating me for years with her charm and wit. She always amazes me with the projects she whips up and her customers couldn’t agree more!

You can find her all around the internet!

A few words from Michelle!

From Home started as a way to pass time as a stay at home mom. I was making cool stuff with yarn and friends were wanting to PAY me for them… so tada! In the three years I have been crocheting, I have made some amazing hooker friends, started creating my own patterns, and won the second annual HodgePodge Crochet Showdown with my Classic Lace Bolster Pattern!

Thoughts about her newest pattern, Waves of Grain!

I really wanted to make a simple square that looks complicated. I looked for unusual stitches and came across the cable stitch. The name alone sounded “difficult”, but when I saw how it was worked, I knew it was the perfect stitch for the job.

I love the texture and simplicity of Waves of Grain. Using the cable stitch has made a basic dc stitch really pop! Don’t be afraid to tackle this one. It is much easier than it looks!

Important details about this block from the designer:

Gauge: 25 sc = 7″

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Materials Used: Vanna’s Choice WW, I Hook (or hook size required for gauge), tapestry needle for weaving

Special Stitches: Cable Stitch

I hope you enjoy tackling this week’s block and you’re looking forward to next week’s exclusive design by Tangled & Tied!
