A few words from Samantha!
I started Silverdragon Crafts & Critters because I love to bring smiles to people’s faces. It all started with a little dragon 5 years ago and exploded from there. Since then I have added jewelry to my repertoire and in 2013 I began my adventure as a pattern designer and I couldn’t be happier! I love seeing ideas in my head come to life .and then seeing others re-create them I have released 14 patterns previous to this one, to include another square for a CAL back in 2015.
Thoughts about her newest pattern, Having A Hoot!
It’s all about CABLES! They can be tricky but they can be conquered! Working the cables with one side being a mirror image of the other creates darling little owls, and come on who doesn’t love cute little owls. My step-daughter certainly does and she is the reason this square was created. By combining 4 of these squares I will create a wall hanging in her favorite décor.
As you can in the two-toned picture, I took on the daunting task of color changing only for the cables. I really wanted the owls to come to life and they did! Working the square in 2 colors really gives the owls more definition, and it almost looks as if they are ready to just hop off the square and fly away. The little owls on this square makes me smile every time I look at them, and I hope they make you smile too!
