A few words from Debbie!

I started my little shop on Etsy in 2012. I love crocheting and I was so inspired by others who had Etsy shops, I thought I would give it a try. QT Patootie Crochet originally started out as QT Patootie Kids but as I started crocheting more and more, I was crocheting things for kids, women and men so I changed it to cover a broader spectrum.

My inspiration is yarn! All the different fibers, colors, and brands. I just want to make things with it all. I’ve always been a crocheter. I’ve tried other things but nothing satisfies my crafty urges more than yarn and a hook. QT Patootie Crochet was the 2015 Crochet Award winner for Best Cowl Design!

Thoughts about her newest pattern, Pretty Petals Square!

I’ve always loved flowers so why not make a square to show off a flower! I’ve always loved roses so I crocheted my own version of it. I also like lacy openwork in a crochet project so I added that in with a solid edging to make the flower and openwork stand out more.

I added color to this version of the square to show it’s versatility. My “rose” is yellow because that is my favorite color, white for the lacy openwork to show off the flower and the green to bring some depth to it. I just love that you can pretty much crochet it in any color and it will look great. Just think if you made an afghan out of this pattern, you would have a beautiful field of roses!
