Little Goose Crochet Sea of Diamonds

It’s the middle of March and we are finally looking at flowers blooming and bees buzzing in my corner of the planet!! This might be one of my favorite times of year and I couldn’t be happier to present to you all this knobby loveliness by Little Goose Crochet!

Let’s learn a little more about the square and the designer behind it!

My favorite thing about Darlene MacDonald’s designs is how genius they are! Her fans love her dolls and rave about their simplicity and character!

You can find her all around the internet!

A few words from Darlene!

I started my business in 2013 as a means of making a small income to help with the household. Friends started requesting toys that I couldn’t find patterns for and so my passion was born. I love to design dolls that are cute, fun to make and have little to no sewing.

Thoughts about her newest pattern, Sea of Diamonds!

The Sea of Diamonds square was created using just three stitches, single crochet, double crochet and front post triple crochet. While designing this square I kept a couple of things in mind, it had to be simple, have texture and lots of visual appeal.

The simple repeating pattern in this square makes it a great fit for a sampler.

This square is so much fun and looks great in any color. The post stitches remind me of ripples in the water, they also come together to form the diamond shapes throughout. This is the first square I have designed and I am very excited about how it turned out.

Important details about this block from the designer:

Gauge: 25sc = 7”
Skill Level: Intermediate
Materials Used: I hook (5.5 mm), Loops and Threads Impeccable in Royal Blue (blue square), Loops and Threads Impeccable in Lavender and White (Purple square)

I hope you enjoy tackling this week’s block and you’re looking forward to next week’s exclusive design from Kimations Design!
